How long do I need to record A song?

As with any creative work, the answer to this can vary enormously depending on what you are looking for. It isn't a simple case of playing a track through once, twice or even three times. We want to make sure it is as good as it can be, and this can mean playing through the song, or a section of the song, multiple times to capture the best possible recording. For a well-rehearsed band it generally works out at about 1 to 2 songs per full day of recording, so for a 5 track EP you would probably need 4 to 5 days of recording to get the best results. A more simple lineup will take considerably less time.  More time spent on recording usually pays off in the finished product.

However, the tracks will need to be mixed (finished), and this will add further time to the booking, if you are choosing to do that here with us. The simplest answer is contact us to discuss what you need, and we will advise you on your options.

Depending on your requirements, there are plenty of different options to suit all budgets. Whether you require a small editing suite or a full multi-room band recording, we can accommodate your wishes. Have a look at our rates page, and feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Everything you would take to a gig, and more!  We have a selection of instruments and amplifiers available, but please bring your own as they may play a huge part in creating 'your' sound.  Drums should ideally be re-skinned and guitars/basses should have new strings, as these will help us bring more 'life' and detail out of your instruments.
Vocalists get it easy - just bring yourselves and some copies of the lyrics!

Don't worry, we will send you a PDF breakdown of what to bring along with your booking form.
